Managed website hosting, looked after long after launch

Once a site is live, someone has to keep it fast, patched, backed up, and reachable when something goes wrong. That's what managed hosting is, and with BrainWeb it's the person who built the site. UK servers, daily backups, security monitoring, and a phone that gets answered. We're a small studio in north Norfolk, a short drive from Norwich, hosting and looking after sites for businesses there and right across the UK.

We handle it

Updates, settings, fixes, renewals, and the rest of the technical upkeep. None of it is your problem.

Safe and secure

Software kept current, the site watched around the clock, and a daily copy to fall back on.

Someone to call

A real phone number, answered by the person who looks after your site.

Hosting, and everything around it

Two hosting platforms, one for WordPress and one for modern builds, plus the services that sit alongside them. Each card links to the full detail.

What every site gets

What every site gets, whichever hosting it's on

Managed WordPress and App & Static hosting work differently under the hood, but the promise is the same. Whichever one your site runs on, it gets all of this.

  • A free SSL certificate

with HTTPS enforced, so the connection is encrypted and the site is trusted

  • Active monitoring

with a real person watching, not just an automated alert

  • Updates applied

WordPress core and plugins, or framework dependencies, kept current so known weaknesses are closed before anyone finds them

  • Daily backups

kept for 30 days on WordPress hosting, and versioned deployments on Firebase, so a bad day is an inconvenience rather than a disaster

  • Set up, deployed, and managed by us

so the technical side stays off your plate

  • A real person to call

by phone or email, whenever you need one

  • Privacy-first analytics included

Umami, cookieless, no consent banner, on every site we host; reporting and dashboards are under Grow

That’s what "managed" actually means: the upkeep is our job, not yours. The tier-by-tier detail for each kind of hosting is on its own page.

The landscape has changed

Why hosting matters more than it used to

The security landscape shifted in 2026, and it's worth two minutes to understand why, because the conclusion is practical: a site built well and looked after is still a safe site, and hosting is the part that keeps it that way.

Read the full explainer

In April 2026, Anthropic announced Project Glasswing and a model called Claude Mythos Preview, which can find and exploit software vulnerabilities faster than all but a handful of human researchers. Within a month, Anthropic and around fifty partners had used it to find more than ten thousand high- or critical-severity vulnerabilities in widely used software. Mozilla fixed 271 of them in a single Firefox release.

Since then the capability has spread. The generally available frontier models (Claude Fable, GPT-5.6, and others) find vulnerabilities at scale too, and open-weight models such as Kimi K3, whose full weights were published in July, can be run by anyone with the hardware and no provider watching what they’re used for. The time between a weakness in a plugin or platform being found and being exploited has collapsed, and the software with the largest shared codebases, WordPress and its plugin ecosystem above all, is where automated attacks go first.

The practical implication for a small business is plain. A site that’s built well and kept current is still a safe site. One left to drift between updates on cheap unmanaged hosting carries a risk it didn’t carry two years ago. Updates applied promptly, monitoring with someone watching, and backups you can restore from are the difference, and every site on BrainWeb hosting gets all three. The same models that changed the attackers’ side now review our builds before launch; that’s on the Build page.

HOW HOSTING WORKS WITH US

A setup that gets it right,
then looked after from there on.

Hosting is two jobs: getting the site onto the right platform, then looking after it for as long as you're with us. The setup happens once. The aftercare doesn't stop. The process below applies whether we're hosting a new BrainWeb build or bringing a site in from somewhere else.

See the full project process

Hosting is part of the launch phase for new builds, and it's a standalone service for sites built elsewhere. Once the hosting is sorted, the Grow pillar covers what helps it perform over time.

BEFORE WE START

The Initial Conversation

A chat about your site and your current setup. If you've already got hosting and it's not working for you, we'll talk about what's gone wrong and what a better setup looks like. If your site is being built or migrated, we'll talk about which of our hosting options fits and what the cutover would involve.

GETTING THE SITE ON THE RIGHT PLATFORM

Setup or migration

For a new BrainWeb build, hosting setup runs in parallel with the build itself, so everything's ready when launch day comes. For a migration from another host, we plan the move carefully: a full backup of the existing site, a test deployment on our infrastructure to confirm everything works, then a coordinated cutover with minimal downtime.

Either way: SSL certificates, security configuration, performance tuning, monitoring, and backups all configured and verified before the site goes live.

THE CUTOVER

Go-live

DNS changes, traffic switches over, the new hosting takes the load. We monitor closely for the first 24 hours and stay on call. For migrations, we keep the old hosting available as a safety net until we're certain the new setup is stable.

24hr close monitoring · Stay reachable

ONCE THE SITE IS LIVE

Aftercare

This is the part that keeps repeating, quietly, for as long as your site is with us. Daily backups, kept long enough to roll back from anything sensible. Security monitoring with active response if anything looks off. Software updates applied carefully on staging before they go live. Performance monitoring with intervention if things drift. A real person to call when something needs doing.

Once a year, every BrainWeb client gets a free website MOT: a fresh look at performance, security, and whether the hosting is still the right fit, with three concrete recommendations and a price against each. You decide what, if anything, to do about them.

FAQ

Things people ask us about hosting

Six questions that come up on most hosting enquiries: what "managed" covers, what happens if a site is hacked, and what moving from another host involves. The full list is on the hosting FAQ page.

Ask a question

If your question isn't here, ask. You'll get an answer from the person who'd be looking after your site.

Do you back up my site?

Yes. Managed WordPress hosting includes automatic daily backups with 30 days of restore points, so if something goes wrong, the site can be rolled back to a recent known-good version. Modern static sites are version-controlled in full, so the site can be rebuilt and redeployed from source at any time. Either way, a bad day is recoverable.

How secure is your hosting?

Both hosting types are built for security. WordPress hosting includes multiple firewalls, malware detection, application security patching, full account isolation, and active monitoring. Modern static hosting has a naturally small attack surface, with no live database or PHP runtime to attack. No hosting is a magic shield, but well-built sites on properly managed hosting are genuinely safe, and we keep watching rather than assuming.

Am I locked into a contract?

No. Hosting runs on a monthly or annual plan, and there's no long tie-in. The aim is to keep your hosting because it's genuinely good, not because leaving is made difficult.

What does "managed" hosting actually mean?

It means the ongoing work of keeping a site healthy is handled for you, not just the server space. With BrainWeb, managed hosting covers WordPress core and plugin updates, security monitoring, daily backups, performance and caching, and a real person to call when something needs doing. Unmanaged hosting gives you server space and leaves the rest to you. The managed part is the part that actually saves you time and trouble.

Is hosting included when you build my site?

Yes. Every new build includes the first year of managed hosting as part of the project, matched to the right setup for the site (Managed WordPress Hosting for WordPress, App & Static Hosting for modern JS sites). After the first year, hosting continues on a monthly or annual plan. It's genuinely included, not a trial rate that jumps later.

Can you move my existing site to your hosting?

Yes. We handle the whole migration: a full backup of your existing site, setting it up and testing it on our infrastructure, then switching it over with as little disruption as possible. We can cancel your old hosting afterwards too, if you'd like.

Talking to us about hosting?

Hosting is part of every BrainWeb project, included for the first year of any new build. If you've got a site that needs better hosting, or you want to know what managed hosting would cover for yours, get in touch.
